First off, you should know that we have no intention to use whatever information we may collect from you for commercial purposes, and we do not pass on your personal information to any third parties unless a third party needs to be involved so that the order you placed on our website can be processed and shipped to you.
As a US-based non-profit organization we store your information outside the European Economic Area on servers in the United States. If you are placing an order on our website, we will also have to pass on your information to our affiliates in Europe, depending on your country. This is only so that they can send the books you ordered to your address. In any case, whenever we transfer your data, we make sure to use technical solutions that make it safe ( secure servers, SSL encryption) and that allow access only for those who need it (in order to process your order).
Your personal data belongs to you. You have the right to find out more about how we process your personal data, change the information you shared with us, download or delete your data or to exercise any other right that falls within the scope of GDPR. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your requests.
EEM’s data controller is Mrs. Kathy Knox. You can contact her by writing to Eastern European Mission, PO Box 55245, Hurst, TX 76054 (USA) or by email at email@example.com. Before you do, here’s a few more items you may have been wondering about:
- We only process the personal information you have provided us with. This information is used to fulfill your order(s) and/or to reply to your inquiries.
- We also retain your information after we have processed (and shipped) your order and/or replied to your inquiry in order to protect our own business interests. The server log information is retained for 4 weeks. Your order information is kept in our database for up to 5 years to protect us from fraud or abuse (in keeping with our Terms of Service). Your inquiries are retained for up to 3 months after which they have been resolved.
- We do not receive information about you from third parties.
- We have no reason to ask for what is called sensitive personal information. Please do not send us anything that would fall under this category.
